Men’s 5th X1 vs Bebington - Saturday 12th January 2008

Lost 4-0

We played Bebington at home. With a few cobwebs being present from the week before, we were hoping to make amends. We ended up starting the game with 10 men, partly due to communication prior to the game and not being able to do much about it. We ended up going into half time 2-0 down; the first goal was well worked but due to an umpiring decision they scored a second, despite the honesty of the Bebington players. Due to help from Ian Thomas, Waz Ryan Beswick played the second half for us, even though we ended up conceding 2 more goals. If we had started the game with 11 players we may have done better.

In a game where Chester had quite an experienced team, with some badges making an appearance, Chester started the stronger of the two teams. This dominance would be
demonstrated for most of the first half with C. Ormondy and A Parrot playing very well for their first senior game for the club. Chester had numerous changes during both halves but due to excellent goalkeeping on Neston’s part, the result ended up being 0-0.
